Privacy Policy
Monarch Labs(“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Reptile Rack, a reptile husbandry log for iOS. This policy explains what information the app handles and how we use it.

Summary
- Your animal records, photos, and vet documents stay on your devices unless you choose iCloud sync.
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- We collect limited diagnostic data (crash and performance reports) to keep the app reliable.
- Purchases are processed by Apple; we never receive your payment card details.
Information you provide
When you use Reptile Rack, you may enter husbandry data such as animal names, species, feeding schedules, weight entries, health notes, breeding project details, and optional photos or vet documents. This content is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData).
If you enable Rack Pro iCloud sync, this data is stored in your private iCloud account via CloudKit so it can sync across your devices. We do not operate our own servers for your collection data, and we cannot access your iCloud content.
Information collected automatically
Diagnostics
To diagnose crashes and improve performance, the app uses Sentry to collect diagnostic information such as crash logs, error messages, device type, operating system version, app version, and coarse performance traces. This data is not linked to your identity and is used only to maintain and improve app functionality.
Purchases
If you buy Rack Pro (lifetime or annual subscription), Apple processes the transaction through your Apple ID. We receive only what StoreKit provides to confirm your entitlement—we do not receive your name, email, or payment information from Apple.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, feeding and care reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Notification content is not sent to our servers.
Apple Intelligence
Optional Apple Intelligence features (such as natural-language log assist) run on-device when supported by your device and settings. We do not receive the text you enter for those features.
How we use information
We use the limited data described above to:
- Provide core app features and optional iCloud sync
- Deliver local reminders and home screen widgets
- Validate Rack Pro purchases and restores
- Fix bugs, prevent crashes, and improve performance
- Respond to support requests you send us
Data sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app (such as Sentry for diagnostics) and only as needed for those services. Your husbandry data is not shared with third parties for marketing.
Data synced through iCloud is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data retention and deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app from your device. iCloud data remains in your iCloud account until you delete it or turn off sync. Diagnostic events in Sentry are retained for a limited period consistent with our monitoring needs, then deleted or aggregated.
Your choices
- You can use the free tier without creating an account with us.
- iCloud sync is optional and requires Rack Pro and a signed-in iCloud account.
- You can disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
- Subscription management and refunds are handled through Apple.
Children's privacy
Reptile Rack is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International users
Diagnostic data may be processed in the United States where our service providers operate. By using the app, you consent to this processing as described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
